Thanksgiving

I decided since last year on Thanksgiving we were on the road to move to Denver that I would do a somewhat traditional one this year. Since to no one else in my family Thanksgiving isn't a big deal, (they don't have Thanksgiving in England), I had a Honey Baked ham instead of turkey. I made sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, a raspberry tart, and a cherry pie, and Wicked Fruit Salad. Maggie made her traditional Yule log that she does for Christmas as sort of a "practice run". It was yummy and being with family is great!

Ward Halloween Party

We went to our ward Halloween party and had a chili cook off. Guess who won grand prize? Yep...ME! The missionaries chose the winner.The kids had a lot of fun and the trunk-or-treat was great too!

It is the first snow day of the season! It is snowing a lot and the kids LOVE it! Especially Abbi.Me...not so much.I am truly a desert rat!

Sam, the kids and I all took a tour of a candy factory here in Denver, that makes a lot of the candy the old fashioned way. We got free samples after and the gist shop was wonderful! We had a great day!

RMDS Field Trip

This was the girls' first field trip with RMDS and they went to Miller Farms! It was a lot of fun! They got to pick their own veggies, and a pumpkin too!

Cave of the Winds, CO Springs, Manitou Springs

We went to the Cave of the Winds in Colorado Springs! We had a great time and the cave was AMAZING!

First day of Preschool!

My twins Abbi and Bella are attending a deaf/hh preschool where they will learn sign language as well as verbal. They had a great day and loved their teacher Alicia, the translator Jo, and the para Liliana. I am an everyday volunteer for the classroom. I LOVE it, and will learn lots of ASL!

Club Beta

We went and saw Matt Darey at club Beta. Sam won tickets it was a lot of fun!

Concert in the park

Sam and I and the twins went to a free concert in the park by our house and saw a U2 cover band called, "Blood Red Sky"! They were really good, even though it was raining we had a lot of fun! I LOVE U2, I hope I get to see them in concert someday!

4th of July Ward BBQ

It was so much fun going to the park by our house to have a BBQ with our ward! They had a HUGE fireworks display. It was a lot of fun! The girls got their face painted and made necklaces, and played some water games!

Time with the Grandparents!

It is so great that Maggie and Mal can spend time with their grand kids. Maggie teaching the girls to make the perfect pie crust, and Mal showing Vaughan how to watch the perfect Western!

This recipe was in the back of July's issue of Martha Stewart. I just had to try it and with a few adjustments for altitude they came out great!

Fashion

I am not sure if I should praise my children's choice of clothing or call the fashion police! I let them wear whatever they choose to. (Unless going to church or the doctors or visiting the Queen) I hope their "fashion sense" will make me rich one day!

Family Comes to Denver

Mom, Dad and Hilary came to Denver for a visit! We had lots of fun swimming at the hotel and BBQing and going to GB Fish and Chips! Thanks guys for a great weekend! See you in November!

Date Night

Sam and I went on a date to see Fast and the Furious 5, and then for dinner after. We went to Biker Jim's Gourmet hot dogs. I had a Pheasant Dog with cream cheese and grilled onions. Sam has a wild boar hot dog! They were both really good actually! They also have reindeer, elk, venison, and rattlesnake! LOL The movie was cheesy but fun, and the dinner was fun too! Thanks honey for a good time!
